At EuroVis 2024, we will present our paper “Investigating the Effect of Operation Mode and Manifestation on Physicalizations of Dynamic Processes” (for more details, you can take a look at our preprint here). Also, I will participate in a panel discussion on “Integrating Sonification and Visualization – But Why?” Looking forward to discuss with my co-panelists Sandra Pauletto, Niklas Rönnberg, and Niklas Elmqvist!

Last week, our NII Shonan seminar on “Advancing Visual Computing in Materials Science” took place. I co-organized this meeting together with my colleagues Christoph Heinzl, Mike Kirby, Guillermo Requena, Kristi Potter, and Yuriko Takeshima! The outcomes of the seminar are anticipated to provide new directions of interdisciplinary work between visual computing and materials science. Stay tuned for more information!

At Eurographics 2024, we presented our paper entitled “Surface-aware Mesh Texture Synthesis with Pre-trained 2D CNNs“. The paper was co-authored by Aron Kovacs and Pedro Hermosilla. For more details, take a look here!

At EG VCBM 2023, we had two papers (Sherbiny et al. on VA for Cohort Radiogenomics, and Schindler et al. on Smoke Surfaces for Biological Dynamical Systems) and one poster (Muth et al. on Growing GANs for Retinal Vessel Segmentation) The work of Marwin Schindler (together with Aleksandr Amirkhanov) received the Best Short Paper Award (which appears also the newsletter of TU Wien)!
